Tuesday’s arson attack by teenaged morons
in Lesnes Abbey park seems likely to deprive younger children of their playground for rather a long time. Councillor Read believes it will cost more than £100,000 to replace it.
Given the state of council finances it is unlikely to be a priority.
I find it hard to conceive how a few bits of metal bolted together can ever cost
that sort of money. Probably something to do with the Great British Rip Off to
which public authorities appear to be more than a little susceptible.
