Bexley council provides rich pickings for The Taxpayers Alliance, it being
one of the most spendthrift and dishonest councils in London. The Alliance has
obtained information under the Freedom of Information Act which reveals that
Bexley, on average, fines every single one of its residents, men, women and
children, an average of £25.40 per year for parking and bus lane infringements.
Presumably the figure is boosted by Bexleys fondness for
testing and even breaking the limits of the law
by issuing tickets where no legal order exists
and for going out of its way to put up
ineffective warning signs.
