12 October (Part 2) - Three years of Council neglect
It is probably longer but Bexley Council has still done nothing about the
traffic congestion that regularly occurs on New Road in Abbey Wood.
A combination of more than 30 buses an hour and almost no parking
restrictions from 1 p.m. Friday until
11 a.m. Monday guarantees
almost
non-stop problems. Yesterday a bus driver misjudged the gap and got
stuck. A parked car was wrecked.
Local Councillors have proved to be ineffective against Bexley Council’s
intransigence. More traffic than ever uses New Road because Knee Hill is too
narrow and blighted by a Yellow Money Box Junction.
At Elizabeth line pick up and set down times New Road becomes close to
impassable. For how much longer will Bexley Council’s Highways Department turn a blind eye?
And Bexley Council allowed its favourite property developer
to build
flats exactly where this bus crash occurred.
