28 July - Going Ape

Go Ape meetingThe Go Ape Campaign Group met yesterday in St. John’s Church not far from Danson Park. Several people provided feedback but it is not absolutely consistent. I think we can be sure that there were around 50 people there, among them and understandably so, Independent Councillor Dave Curtois. Less obviously Reform UK was represented but what their official policy on the issue is remains a little vague.

Nothing about alleged Tory skullduggery was reported to me but the Group is still planning to go for a Judicial Review. Cost estimates are said to range from not a lot up to £20,000. The grounds for review were not revealed to me.

I am told that I got a mention for accurately describing a random group of people noisily waiting at a 96 bus stop as a gaggle. (Oxford Junior Dictionary: A group of noisy people.) Nothing about the later congratulations on forming a legally constituted campaign group; but why let the facts get in the way of a not very good story?

Now they want your money for legal fees. GoFundMe.
