26 August (Part 1) - Stretching it out
My optimism that the New Road closure would be short lived because the hole
had been concreted in only hours after it was created was misplaced. While
the road surface was being restored before 8 a.m. this morning, Photo 1, another gang was opening up another hole. Photo 2.
Why could that have not been done yesterday? The Council's new
road works enquiry tool reveals that New Road will be closed tomorrow too. At
least they got their diversion arrow to point the right way. (Image 5.)
This a Bexley Council highways operation. Current and planned road works are now
directly linked from the Democracy menu above. It is a little worrying that some
works have an end date of 2032.
