25 August (Part 2) - Yet another road closure
My bus to Bexleyheath was diverted this morning and it was obvious from the
route taken that New Road must be closed. After returning I decided to take a look.
As anyone familiar with the area will know, the diversion sign in Photo 1 is
pointing the wrong way. Once again we have an idiot in charge of signage.
Carefully dodging Bexley Council’s foliage overhanging the footpath I ascended
New Road to see what the problem is. It was clear yesterday evening. Someone had dug a hole and already filled
it with concrete so maybe New Road will not be shut for too long.
Unlike Halfway Street which has been blessed with 4-way lights thanks to
the generosity of Thames Water.. Best not to go there.
