10 December (Part 2) - This website. The Contact Form
It has belatedly come to my attention that the systems that handle anonymous
messages via the Contact Form failed several months ago, possibly as far back as
the Spring of 2015. It would appear that a software update on the mail server
blocked and lost messages which bore no return address which was not previously the case.
This morning the Contact Form has been modified such that anonymous messages
- those with blank input fields - will have them filled with anonymous data
(anonymous@ etc.) that satisfies the new mail server software. There will be no noticeable change for users.
It is probable that many people will have sent anonymous information which has
not arrived and could not be used. I can only apologise for not investigating the reduced use of the
Contact Form earlier.
