The unusual site banners are to bring attention to the fact that Labour activists in Bexley are manipulating Facebook Groups with fictional posters. They deny it, threaten police action for ‘harassing’ a fictitious character and then demonstrate their willingness to impersonate by creating a false Administrator account in my name. The banner on display is chosen randomly from a selection of three, with a fourth bearing the familiar Bexley Council is Bonkers logo.

3 July (Part 2) - Changes at the top

Griffin BrownIt’s been known for a long time that Mike Ellsmore is going to retire from his position of Director of Finance by the end of the year. Whilst I note that Mr. Ellsmore’s name may be found 49 times on B-i-B I do not recall any that is negative.

If the grapevine is to be believed his replacement is Alison Griffin who has been the Deputy Director of Finance at Camden council. Camden has the second highest council tax rate in Inner London and Alison is no stranger to Bexley, she was a Policy Officer at the Civic Offices ten years ago; so quite likely some of the problems we see today are down to her.

The rumour machine has been working overtime; it says that Deputy Director Tom Brown will replace Mark Charters (Education and Social Care) who has wisely done a runner to the Isle of Man.
