This
is Belvedere where it runs into Abbey Wood just before 7 a.m. this morning. These two
spots have flooded on every rainy day since 1987 and probably before that. The first is
the welcome
Bexley gives to visitors alighting at Abbey Wood station soon to be a
Crossrail terminus, and the second is Abbey Road, and later in the
day the flood would have risen above the pavement too, it usually does. I don’t
suppose 25 years of neglect would be allowed if any councillors lived in this
corner of town, but they don’t.
