Ye Olde Leather Bottle
There
are signs that the developer who knocked down Bexley’s oldest pub which once stood on Heron Hill, Belvedere is taking steps towards
complying with the Community Protection Notice
which should have been obeyed no later than last September.
The photos are limited because the men on site were not at all happy
about being photographed.
They never are.
Potholes
With the sun rising earlier one of my eight trips to or from Bromley each week is now done in almost daylight. This gives the opportunity of seeing potholes before dropping into them.
I remain of the opinion that Bexley, poor though it may be, is some way ahead of Bromley.
One indication is that the hole I
photographed last Sunday is now filled in. It is not a really good job and
to be honest a hole on the edge of a road which has no kerb is always likely to
collapse again quite soon, but at least someone tried.
At 06:40 this morning Bromley’s newish yellow box junction at the Chislehurst War
Memorial was one again causing long tail backs as drivers can no longer cross it
in a snake like queue. Council cretins demand long gaps or a hefty fine. Why
are road designers almost universally stupid?
