19 February (Part 4) - Future council meetings
Not a week goes by without someone contacting me to ask when the next council
meeting is - occasionally from someone who really ought to know. I was asked
earlier this year to provide a quick look up system.
The code changes under Bonkers’ bonnet are far from complete and there are pages
which are not yet in their final format and a few that do not work properly at
all. However one of the things being rolled out is the requested feature.
You may have noticed the Bexley council logo to the right of the menu bar
- not in Day Only mode. On most pages it may now be clicked to display a selection of
forthcoming council meetings. The logo does not appear in One Day Only
blog mode because that is intended to provide a minimum download, and
loading the forthcoming meetings facility goes against that particular grain.
I am aware that the menu bar icons may be too small for Mobile viewing mode and
there is a plan to do something about that, but it is well down the must do list.
The council’s official meetings list is and always has been available from the
main menu. Links>Council>Calendar of Meetings.
Incidentally, Day Only mode is now available for 2009 and 2010. Not as useful as
2014 but working forwards from 2009 reduces the amount of work involved.
