19 June (Part 3) - Carbon copies

I thought that getting a reply from Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe himself about my three year old complaint against Bexley police was some sort of sign that he might recognise that there is a problem with the Met’s complaints handling procedures, and that may be so, but I felt a little deflated when the lady who was arrested at Heathrow Airport “for a laugh” sent me her reply from Hogan-Howe dated just four days later.

She had complained about the lack of interest by Bexley police in her wrongful arrest and except for the address on each letter both are word perfect identical. I suppose one might draw consolation from the fact that the two signatures display slight variations so presumably the letters are not totally computer generated but it does smack of ‘send standard letter type 2’.
